Why

[Why] The end-Yuan Red Turban uprising had cleared most of the southern geopolitical fragmentation but also faced the still-strong counter-strike strength of the main northern Yuan court. The south urgently needed a leader to command the heroes. [What] After Zhu Yuanzhang wiped out forces like Chen Youliang, he raised the great banner of expelling the Tatars and restoring China and launched grand northern expedition. The Ming army advanced victoriously and recovered Beijing Dadu; Yuan Emperor Shun fled north, and Ming was formally proclaimed founded. [Who] Ming Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang was a sweeping founding great emperor born of extreme destitution but bearing great ambition, decisive in killing and acting. Veteran generals Xu Da and Chang Yuchun were attack-unstoppable beyond-the-frontier-shaking founding renowned generals. [How] The founding of Ming realized for the first time in over a century the great political restoration of medieval Han regime over the lost land, recovering the Great Wall barrier defense line. It opened the Ming-Qing era of highly autocratic centralized system.
