Also known as Chen Dai Hong
Dai Hong was a Qing court painter whose origin, courtesy names and dates are unknown. Serving in the Qianlong painting academy, he painted landscapes and birds-and-flowers in a fine, brightly coloured manner, and occasionally ink landscapes. In 1736 he joined Chen Mei, Sun Hu, Jin Kun and Cheng Zhidao in painting the Qing Court Version of Along the River During the Qingming Festival, now in the National Palace Museum, Taipei. The museum also holds his hanging scrolls Plum Blossoms and Birds, signed as respectfully painted by your servant Dai Hong, and Flowers, Birds, Spring and Rocks.
