Luoluo Love Song
Black Yi court dance, remade for the stage
Beside misty terraced hills, women in tall silver horn headdresses and men in dark embroidered clothes dance in a circle on a stone-paved ground, the men playing long reed pipes. Wooden stilted houses climb the slope behind.
Introduction

Luoluo Love Song is a group dance created by the dancer Dai Ailian, based on the court dance of the aristocratic Black Yi. When the Frontier Music and Dance Plenary opened at the Chongqing Youth Hall on 6 March 1946, this dance was item five on the programme. It was one of eight new works Dai had made since leaving Hong Kong, and she danced in it herself.
