Also known as Chen Qingbo of Qiantang
Chen Qingbo came from Qiantang (Hangzhou) and painted for the Southern Song academy. According to Xia Wenyan's Yuan-dynasty Precious Mirror of Painting, he was a painter-in-attendance in the Baoyou era (1253–1258) and often painted panoramic views of West Lake. His landscapes follow the academy manner, with fine brushwork and light colour. The Palace Museum's album leaf Spring Dawn over Lake and Hills, credited to him, shows a lakeside scene in early spring.
