Lady Huarong
Consort of King Dan of Yan in the Western Han who danced and sang at his last banquet in 80 BCE, moving the whole company to tears.
In a study at night, a desk holds a brush pot, a porcelain vase with a plum branch, a lit red lantern, a folded fan and an unrolled blank scroll, with no one seated there, while through a round window the moon rises over a lake with a sailboat.

Lady Huarong, whose own name is not recorded, was a consort of King Dan of Yan in the Western Han; her dates are unknown. The Han History records that after his plot failed, Dan gave a banquet at the Wanzai Palace for his guests, ministers and concubines, at which Lady Huarong rose to dance and sing a lament over death and ruin; everyone present wept. Dan took his own life soon after, in 80 BCE. Her song is later included in the Gushi yuan.
