Ye Wang
Qing-era Taiwanese master of jiaozhi pottery whose glazed figures still adorn the Xuejia Ciji Temple and other temples of Chiayi and Tainan
A craft workshop centres on a potter's wheel holding a tall celadon vase, amid racks of red lacquer boxes, an embroidery frame with a floral design, shelves of celadon ware, carved wooden panels and stacked logs, while one craftsman works at a table and another stands at a glowing kiln.

Ye Wang, born Ye Linzhi with the courtesy name Heyun, came from Dabiao, present-day Minxiong in Chiayi, Taiwan; his father's family came from Pinghe in Zhangzhou, Fujian. He was the first Taiwan-born master of jiaozhi pottery, the low-fired, brightly glazed figures, dragons and vessels set on temple ridges and walls, and his work survives at the Xuejia Ciji Temple and Jiali Jintang Hall in Tainan and the City God Temple of Chiayi. The Xuejia Ciji Temple keeps nearly a hundred of his pieces, several now designated national treasures, and his rouge-red glaze is regarded as the hallmark of his school.
