Jin Changxu
Tang poet from Lin'an about whom almost nothing is known, famous for the single surviving quatrain Spring Lament.
In a study at night, a desk holds a brush pot, a porcelain vase with a plum branch, a lit red lantern, a folded fan and an unrolled blank scroll, with no one seated there, while through a round window the moon rises over a lake with a sailboat.

Jin Changxu was a Tang poet from Lin'an, in present-day Hangzhou, whose dates and life are unknown; only a single five-character quatrain, Spring Lament, is recorded. It begins by telling the oriole to stop singing on the branch, because a woman does not want to be woken from a dream in which she meets her husband away on the frontier. Its device is ingenious and its language plain. The poem is in Quan Tang shi, fascicle 768, and in Tang shi san bai shou.
