On the small stage of a Yuan playhouse a female lead in plain clothes, a cangue on her neck, kneels at the centre and lifts her head to vow as white paper snowflakes begin to fall from above, with a drummer and a flute player at the side.
Twenty years later the orphan has grown up; Cheng Ying tells him who he is, and he resolves to take revenge on Tu'an Gu.
