Fan Wuqi

Late Warring States Qin general who fled to Yan after offending King Zheng of Qin and cut his own throat so Jing Ke could present his head.

Also known as General Fan

Fan Wuqi was a Qin general of the late Warring States who incurred the anger of King Zheng of Qin and fled to Yan, where Crown Prince Dan sheltered him while Qin offered a thousand catties of gold and a fief of ten thousand households for his head. When Jing Ke proposed to win the Qin king's trust by bringing that head together with a map of Dukang, Fan Wuqi cut his own throat to serve the plan. The episode is told in the Shiji's Biographies of Assassins, and Zou Yang's Memorial from Prison cites it as an example of loyalty unto death.
