Qin Wuyang
Yan strongman, grandson of general Qin Kai, who went with Jing Ke to assassinate the king of Qin in 227 BCE and blanched in the throne hall.
On a moonlit night in a bamboo grove, a covered wooden bridge crosses a misty gorge with glowing lanterns hanging along it, and a small figure in a wide hat stands in the middle of the bridge; a cloak and a wine gourd hang on the railing in the foreground.
Also known as Qin Wuyang (variant writing in the Zhan guo ce)
Qin Wuyang was a man of Yan in the late Warring States period, grandson of the Yan general Qin Kai. The Shiji says he had killed a man at thirteen and that people dared not meet his eye, so Crown Prince Dan of Yan assigned him as Jing Ke's deputy. In 227 BCE the two entered Qin, Jing Ke bearing the box with Fan Yuqi's head and Qin Wuyang the map case of Dukang. At the steps of the throne Qin Wuyang turned pale and trembled; Jing Ke laughed and excused him as a northern rustic overawed by the Son of Heaven. His fate after the failed attempt is not recorded.
