Jin Dao, also known as Jin Gonglu, was a qin zither maker of the early Shaoxing era of the Southern Song. The Yuan writer Zhou Mi identified Jin Gonglu with the Jin Dao of early Shaoxing and described his instruments as thin and light, and Tao Zongyi's list of Song qin makers in the Chuogeng lu includes him. The Palace Museum's Jade Pot Ice qin in Zhongni form has its name cut in seal script above the dragon pool and, inside, a red-lacquer inscription stating that it was made by Jin Dao (Gonglu) in the second year of Shaoxing, 1132.
