Lu Song

Southern Song lyricist from Shanyin, grandson of Lu Dian and elder brother of Lu You; only two ci survive, and Ruihexian (Lian Xia Hong Yin Zhen) is in Three Hundred Song Lyrics.

Also known as Zi Yi · Yunxi

Lu Song, courtesy name Ziyi and styled Yunxi, was from Shanyin (today's Shaoxing, Zhejiang), grandson of Lu Dian and elder brother of the poet Lu You. His dates are not settled; one account gives 1109–1182, and he was active around the Shaoxing era of Emperor Gaozong. Only two of his ci survive, the best known being Ruihexian (Lian Xia Hong Yin Zhen), a picture of a woman waking languidly and longing for her love, which Zhang Yan's Ci Yuan read as allegorical. The anecdote about a singing girl told in Chen Hu's Qijiu Xuwen should be taken as legend.
