Tai Jiang, of the Jiang surname, was consort of Gugong Danfu and mother of Taibo, Yuzhong and Jili (Wang Ji), making her King Wen's grandmother. The ode Mian, describing the migration to Mount Qi, says the Jiang lady came with him to survey the site for their dwelling. Liu Xiang's Biographies of Exemplary Women praises her chaste and guiding virtue and ranks her with Tai Ren and Tai Si as the Three Mothers of the Zhou house, a model of maternal virtue.
