In a council hall, a long table holds an unrolled map scroll, a brass-cornered chest and a brush pot, with tall-backed chairs around it and a bronze lamp at the left; a figure stands with their back turned on the balcony at the right, with palace roofs beyond.

He Shao, courtesy name Jingzu, came from Yangxia in Chenjun (modern Taikang, Henan), son of He Zeng, and was a Western Jin official and poet. A boyhood friend of Sima Yan, later Emperor Wu, he served as cavalier attendant under him and then as palace attendant and president of a ministry; under Emperor Hui he became Left Vice-Director of the Secretariat. He died in the twelfth month of Yongning 1 and was given the posthumous name Kang. The Wen Xuan keeps his Roaming Among the Immortals and To Zhang Hua, and the Sui bibliography notes a one-scroll collection.
