Zhang Fei
Shu Han general who held the river crossing at Changban for Liu Bei, spared the captured Yan Yan and routed Zhang He, before being murdered by his own officers
At dusk on a hilltop, a large tent stands open with a table holding a map marked with small stones inside, a saddled horse tethered outside, and fire stands burning; campfires dot the river plain below, and one tiny sentry stands on the slope.

Zhang Fei, courtesy name Yide, came from Zhuo commandery and as a young man followed Liu Bei with Guan Yu, whom he treated as an elder brother. In 208, when Cao Cao overtook Liu Bei at Changban, Zhang Fei held the rear with twenty horsemen, broke the bridge and dared the enemy to fight him to the death; no one came near. In the conquest of Yi province he captured Yan Yan, governor of Ba, at Jiangzhou and, admiring his defiance, treated him as a guest. As governor of Baxi he faced Zhang He for over fifty days at Dangqu and finally routed him. In 221 he became general of chariots and cavalry and Marquis of Xixiang, but while preparing at Langzhong for the campaign against Wu he was killed by his officers Zhang Da and Fan Qiang, who took his head to Sun Quan. He was posthumously named Marquis Huan in 260, and Chen Shou wrote that he and Guan Yu were each a match for ten thousand men.
