Bu Lianshi, from Huaiyin in Linhuai and of the same clan as the chancellor Bu Zhi, was a favoured consort of Sun Quan with the rank of lady. Sun Quan wished to make her empress, but his ministers favoured Lady Xu, and the matter stayed open for more than ten years while the palace called her empress. She bore Sun Luban, Princess Quan, and Sun Luyu, Princess Zhu. The Sanguozhi says she was free of jealousy and often recommended others. She died in 238, was granted the empress's seal after death and was buried at Jiangling. The name Lianshi appears in the Jiankang Shilu.
