Sun Liang, the youngest son of Sun Quan, became the second emperor of Eastern Wu in 252 at the age of ten, after his father's death. Zhuge Ke, Teng Yin, Sun Jun and Lü Ju were named regents, and Sun Chen took over after Sun Jun died. In 258 his plot against Sun Chen failed and he was demoted to Prince of Kuaiji while Sun Xiu took the throne. He was later made Marquis of Houguan and died on the way to his fief; the Sanguozhi says he killed himself, and the Wu Lu records a report of poisoning.
