Han Kangzi, named Hu, was the son of Han Zhuangzi and head of the Han clan among the ministers of Jin. Zhibo insulted him and his counsellor Duan Gui at a banquet at Lantai and then demanded land, which Kangzi ceded on Duan Gui's advice. He joined Zhibo in besieging Zhao at Jinyang, but according to the Zhanguo Ce, Zhao's envoy Zhang Mengtan convinced him and Wei Huanzi that they would be next. In 453 BCE they turned against Zhibo with Zhao and divided the Zhi lands. His son and grandson carried Han from ministerial house to recognised state.
