Liu Jisun
Northern Song official, courtesy name Jingwen and close friend of Su Shi, with whom he traded dozens of poems at Hangzhou; Su Shi addressed Presented to Liu Jingwen to him.
In the courtyard of a district government hall, a line of petitioners waits before a raised bench with a long table and document boxes; a blue umbrella stands beside it, a large drum stands at the gate where a few people wait, and a lake with sailboats lies beyond.
Liu Jisun, courtesy name Jingwen, was a Northern Song official about four years older than Su Shi and a collector of paintings and calligraphy. The two were close while both held posts at Hangzhou, touring West Lake and sharing tea and flowers and exchanging dozens of poems; on Su Shi's fifty-fourth birthday he sent an old painting of pines and cranes, and Su answered in verse. Su Shi's Presented to Liu Jingwen was written to him. One of his own poems is in the Qianjia Shi anthology. His dates are unknown.
