Sun Zhu (Northern Song)
Northern Song official and ci poet from Guangling, courtesy name Juyuan, who passed the jinshi before twenty, became Hanlin Academician and wrote refined prose.
At dawn in a palace courtyard, a large drum hangs in a small roofed frame beside a red pillar, with a bound bundle of scrolls on a low stand in front; a stone balustrade leads toward a large hall in the mist, and a row of tiny people stands far away.

Sun Zhu, courtesy name Juyuan, was from Guangling (around Yangzhou) and was a Northern Song official and ci poet. With a prodigious memory, he passed the jinshi before twenty, was recommended by Bao Zheng, Ouyang Xiu and Wu Kui, and Han Qi called him a present-day Jia Yi. He served as collator and Director of Court Ceremonies, also supervised the Remonstrance Bureau and urged more remonstrance officials; under Wang Anshi's reforms he was sent out to govern Haizhou. In the early Yuanfeng years he wrote the Lingjin Temple stele, was made Hanlin Academician, and died soon after at forty-nine.
