Sun Ce
Eldest son of Sun Jian who crossed the Yangzi with a borrowed force, conquered the lower Yangzi commanderies as Marquis of Wu, and was killed at twenty-five, leaving his base to his brother Sun Quan
At dusk on a hilltop, a large tent stands open with a table holding a map marked with small stones inside, a saddled horse tethered outside, and fire stands burning; campfires dot the river plain below, and one tiny sentry stands on the slope.

Sun Ce, courtesy name Bofu, came from Fuchun in Wu commandery and was the eldest son of Sun Jian. After his father's death he served Yuan Shu, who returned only about a thousand of Sun Jian's troops; by the time he reached Liyang on his way to the south bank he had five or six thousand men. From 195 he crossed the Yangzi, defeated the inspector Liu Yao, drove Wang Lang out of Kuaiji, and held Wu, Kuaiji and Danyang. When Yuan Shu declared himself emperor in 197, Sun Ce broke with him, and Cao Cao had him named Marquis of Wu. In 199 he seized Lujiang and attacked Huang Zu, and Hua Xin surrendered Yuzhang. In 200, while secretly preparing to strike at Xu, he was badly wounded by retainers of Xu Gong, a former governor of Wu, and died at twenty-five by Western count. He handed his seal to his brother Sun Quan, who later, as emperor, named him King Huan of Changsha.
