- Roles
- Empress / Consort
Lady Sun was a daughter of Sun Jian and a sister of Sun Quan and Sun Ce. She married Liu Bei as his second wife in 208 or 209. The Sanguozhi biography of Fa Zheng says she was quick-witted and fierce like her brothers, and that her more than a hundred maids stood guard with knives. After Liu Bei went west into Yi province, Sun Quan sent boats to bring her back to Wu. The name Shangxiang comes from folk tradition and opera, not the histories.
