Han Jue
Chief minister of Jin in the Spring and Autumn period who, according to the Shiji, championed restoring the Zhao lineage
In a council hall, a long table holds an unrolled map scroll, a brass-cornered chest and a brush pot, with tall-backed chairs around it and a bronze lamp at the left; a figure stands with their back turned on the balcony at the right, with palace roofs beyond.
Also known as Han Xianzi
Han Jue, posthumously Han Xianzi, was a minister of Jin and head of the Han lineage, ancestor of the later state of Han. He served as marshal at the battle of Bi and drove a chariot at the battle of An, nearly capturing Duke Qing of Qi; he later rose to command the central army and lead the government before retiring. The Zuo Zhuan records that he persuaded Duke Jing to restore Zhao Wu. In the Shiji account he refused to join Tu'an Gu's purge of the Zhao clan and later helped Zhao Wu destroy Tu'an Gu. He is the protector of the Zhao house in 'The Orphan of Zhao'.
