Around 399–400, tradition associates the monk Huichi's arrival in Shu with the founding of Puxian Temple, an early chapter in Wannian Temple's history.

- Samantabhadra Bronze Statue Cast in SongNorthern Song (980 CE)
In 980, after the monk Maozhen of Baishui Temple appeared at court, Emperor Taizong granted gold and sent an envoy to Sichuan to cast a bronze Samantabhadra riding an elephant.
Qing1
- Golden Summit Temple Rebuilt in Ming1702 CE
In 1702, the Kangxi Emperor sent an incense mission to Emei, followed by a tradition about the naming of Baoguo Temple.
Modern Era2
- Landscapes Join the World Heritage List
Huangshan was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1990, and by 2017 Mount Wutai, Longhushan, Xinjiang Tianshan, Guilin, Shennongjia, Hoh Xil and other Chinese mountain and landscape sites had followed.
- Mount Emei Inscribed on UNESCO List1996 CE
In 1996, Mount Emei and the Leshan Giant Buddha were inscribed for Buddhist culture, architecture, scenic setting, and biodiversity.
