Chang'an City

- Giant Wild Goose Pagoda & Da Ci'en Temple in Xi'an
Xuanzang personally oversaw the building of this brick pagoda in 652 to house the Sanskrit scriptures he brought back from India, and it remains a symbol of Tang splendour.
- Small Wild Goose Pagoda & Jianfu Temple in Xi'an
Built in the Jinglong era for the monk Yijing's sutra translations, this thirteen-tier dense-eaved pagoda is famed for cracks opened by earthquakes that are said to have closed again.

- Xi'an Ancient City Wall Yongning Gate
Raised under Zhu Yuanzhang's policy of high walls and ample grain, Xi'an's Ming city wall is among China's largest and best-preserved ancient city walls.

- Xi'an Stele Forest Museum
Founded in the Northern Song Yuanyou era, the museum holds thousands of steles, including the Kaicheng Stone Classics and works by Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan and Wang Xizhi.

Xuanzang crossed Central Asia to study in India, returned to Chang'an with Sanskrit texts, and led a major translation program.

In 645 Xuanzang returned to Chang'an with Sanskrit texts and then led a major translation program that brought the journey's materials into Tang Buddhist scholarship.
Ming1
- Ming Reconstruction of Xi'an City Wall1374–1378 CE
From 1374 to 1378, the Ming court built the main surviving Xi'an city wall on the foundation of the Tang imperial city at Chang'an.
Modern Era2
- The Canal and the Silk Roads
On 22 June 2014 the 38th session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee, in Doha, inscribed the Grand Canal of China and the Silk Roads: Routes Network of the Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor on the World Heritage List.
