Eave tiles, carved bricks, pottery towers and brackets: the art of building kept in objects

This canon collects movable treasures of building: Qin and Han eave tiles and pictorial bricks, pottery towers and model courtyards from tombs, bracket sets and fragments of painted architecture. Most of the buildings themselves are gone; these relics let us rebuild the halls and courtyards of the past.
Physical mortise-and-tenon joints, eaves soaring atop precipices: observing how ancestors constructed architectural and spatial engineering marvels across cliffs and wilderness.
Amid misty wooded hills lie a small multi-storey tower, a carved brick panel of a phoenix with spread wings, a stacked bracket set, round roof tiles with lotus-pattern tile ends and a broken ridge topped by a lion and a dragon-headed ridge beast. Tile ends, carved bricks and brackets evoke the beauty of halls and courtyards now lost.
