Confrontation between northern and southern regimes and ethnic integration
Mural guide
Before a riverside cliff carved with Buddhas in grottoes stand a tall lotus-petal vase, a standing Buddha with a flame-shaped halo, a relief brick of a seated figure and a stele carved with rows of Buddha niches. Grottoes and sacred images evoke the flowering of Buddhist art in the Northern and Southern Dynasties.
