Mural guide
Under a great tasselled canopy below a palace terrace, a fur-robed chief raises a large carved jade bowl beside a big jar painted with galloping horses, an ornate saddle and a tall tally on a stand, while an attendant kneels with a ewer, a falconer stands by, and riders and felt tents spread across the grassland. Feasting, horses and saddlery evoke the bold blend of steppe and court under the Yuan.
