Baiyang

A recently created city in the Tacheng basin, next to Tacheng and the Bakhtu crossing, made up of four regiment towns.

Regional story

A place shaped through time

Baiyang lies in the Tacheng region, next to the city of Tacheng and the Baktu border crossing, with its government on Guangming Road. The Tacheng basin is ringed by mountains, and its plain is a patchwork of fields, pasture and shelterbelts. Rivers from the surrounding ranges water the basin's oases, under cold winters and mild summers. The Baktu crossing is one of the land routes to Kazakhstan, making the area a gateway for cross-border travel. More specific local history and culture for the city still needs to be researched.
